So when they had assembled, they asked him: “Lord, are you restoring the kingdom to Israel at this time?”

When they arrived, they went up into the upper room where they were staying. There were Peter as well as John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bar·tholʹo·mew and Matthew, James the son of Al·phaeʹus, and Simon the zealous one, and Judas the son of James.

3 But Peter said: “An·a·niʹas, why has Satan emboldened you to lie to the holy spirit and secretly hold back some of the price of the field?

4 As long as it remained with you, did it not remain yours? And after it was sold, was it not in your control? Why have you thought up such a deed as this in your heart? You have lied, not to men, but to God.”

5 On hearing these words, An·a·niʹas collapsed and died. And great fear came over all those who heard about it.

6 Then the younger men rose, wrapped him in cloths, carried him out, and buried him.

7 Now after an interval of about three hours his wife came in, not knowing what had happened.

8 Peter said to her: “Tell me, did you two sell the field for so much?” She said: “Yes, for that amount.”
9 Rhunmwuda ọnii, Pita tama rẹn wẹẹ, “Vbọzẹ ne uwẹ vbe ọdafọn na gha si uma wẹ, ne uwa do danmwẹ Orhiọn Nọyaẹnmwa ghee? Iran ni ya tọn ọdafọn ye otọ wa rre onurho nian, iran gha vbe mu uwẹ ladian ba ẹre.”
9 So Peter said to her: “Why did you two agree to make a test of the spirit of Jehovah? Look! The feet of those who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.”

4 but we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”

5 What they said was pleasing to the whole multitude, and they selected Stephen, a man full of faith and holy spirit, as well as Philip, Prochʹo·rus, Ni·caʹnor, Tiʹmon, Parʹme·nas, and Nic·o·laʹus, a proselyte of Antioch.

10 and he rescued him out of all his tribulations and gave him favor and wisdom before Pharʹaoh king of Egypt. And he appointed him to govern Egypt and his whole house.
(Acts 7:21-30)

23 “Now when he reached the age of 40, it came into his heart to make a visit on* his brothers, the sons of Israel.

24 When he caught sight of one of them being unjustly treated, he defended him and avenged the one being abused by striking down the Egyptian.
25 Irẹn keghi te gha ro ighẹ emwa irẹn gha rẹn wẹẹ te Osanobua ra gie irẹn do miẹn iran fan. Sokpan iran ma rẹn.
25 He thought that his brothers would grasp that God was giving them salvation by his hand, but they did not grasp it.
26 Ẹdẹ ghi gbe ọ keghi do vba Ivbi Izrẹl eva gu egbe gbinna, irẹn na wẹẹ ne irẹn dọlọ iran kugbe, ọ keghi kha wẹẹ, ‘Wa danmwehọ mwẹ, oko, etẹn etẹn wa khin, vbe uwa ghi na ru egbe khọọ hẹ?’
26 The next day he appeared to them as they were fighting, and he tried to reconcile them in peace, saying: ‘Men, you are brothers. Why do you mistreat each other?’
27 Ọmwa nọ ru ogieva ẹre khọọ nọ rrọọ keghi wa sua Mosis ghe okhiẹ ọkpa, ọ nọ rẹn wẹẹ, ‘Gha ya uwẹ ru nọ khaemwisẹ ra nọ bu ohiẹn yan ima yi?
27 But the one who was mistreating his neighbor pushed him away, saying: ‘Who appointed you ruler and judge over us?

28 You do not want to do away with me the way you did away with the Egyptian yesterday, do you?’
29 Mosis ghi họn ẹmwẹ na, ọ keghi wa lẹẹ hin otọe Igipt rre, ọ keghi ya di otọ Midian ya. Ọ keghi biẹlẹ emọ ikpia eva vbe evba.
29 On hearing this, Moses fled and lived as a foreigner in the land of Midʹi·an, where he became the father of two sons.
30 “Vbe iyeke ukpo iyeva, odibosa keghi rhie egbe ma Mosis vbe uwu oha ne erhẹn na baa, vbe ato nọ rre ọkpẹn Sainai.
30 “After
40 years had passed, an angel appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Siʹnai in the flame of a burning thornbush.
Or “exposed.”
Or “to check the conditions of.”
(Acts 7:36)

55 But he, being full of holy spirit, gazed into heaven and caught sight of God’s glory and of Jesus standing at God’s right hand,

56 and he said: “Look! I see the heavens opened up and the Son of man standing at God’s right hand.”

57 At this they cried out at the top of their voices and put their hands over their ears and rushed at him all together.

58 After throwing him outside the city, they began stoning him. The witnesses laid down their outer garments at the feet of a young man called Saul.
59. Iran kegha filo okuta gbe Stivin vbe ne ọ ya da tie eni Nọyaẹnmwa nii, “Nọyaẹnmwa Jesu rhan obọ miẹn orhiọn mwẹ.”
59 As they were stoning Stephen, he made this appeal: “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”
60. Rẹn keghi de fie iguẹ, ọ na datu wẹ, “Nọyaẹnmwa ghẹ ka orukhọ na ye iran owẹ.” Ọ ghi tae nẹ, ọ keghi wu.
60 Then, kneeling down, he cried out with a strong voice: “Jehovah, do not charge this sin against them.” And after saying this, he fell asleep in death.
(Acts 8:1)

Saul, for his part, approved of his murder. On that day great persecution arose against the congregation that was in Jerusalem; all except the apostles were scattered throughout the regions of Ju·deʹa and Sa·marʹi·a.

The crowds with one accord were paying attention to what Philip said while they listened and observed the signs he was performing.

30 He brought them outside and said: “Sirs, what must I do to get saved?”

31 They said: “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will get saved, you and your household.”

5 But the Jews, getting jealous, gathered together some wicked men who were loitering at the marketplace and formed a mob and proceeded to throw the city into an uproar. They assaulted the house of Jaʹson and were seeking to have Paul and Silas brought out to the mob.

True, God has overlooked the times of such ignorance; but now he is declaring to all people everywhere that they should repent.

35 I have shown you in all things that by working hard in this way, you must assist those who are weak and must keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus, when he himself said: ‘There is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving.’”

As he was about to be led into the soldiers’ quarters, Paul said to the military commander: “Am I allowed to say something to you?” He said: “Can you speak Greek?

(Acts 26:28)

When finally we entered Rome, Paul was permitted to stay by himself with the soldier guarding him.
